Who we are

V-Aid is a South Wales charity that brings people together through humanitarian service.

Through our Food & Futures programme, volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds work side by side to produce nutritious, long-life emergency meals for charities supporting people experiencing hardship across South Wales.

Alongside Food & Futures, we collect, sort and distribute donated clothing, toiletries and essential household items through our partnership with Cwtch Mawr, helping local charities provide practical support with dignity to those who need it most.

Everything we do is built on one simple belief: everyone has something valuable to contribute. By creating opportunities for people to help others, we strengthen communities while helping individuals build confidence, develop practical skills and discover renewed purpose.

Rather than simply providing support to people, we create opportunities for people to support others.

We bring together veterans, displaced people seeking safety, prison leavers, probation participants and community volunteers around a shared humanitarian purpose. Working side by side to produce emergency meals and support local communities allows people to build confidence, develop practical skills, form new friendships and regain a sense of purpose.

The result is a programme that not only helps those experiencing hardship today but also helps those taking part build stronger futures for themselves.

We believe the greatest impact is achieved by working alongside others rather than working alone.

Food & Futures meals, clothing, toiletries and other essential items are distributed through trusted charities and community organisations that already know the people they support. By working in partnership, we can ensure help reaches those who need it most with dignity, compassion and respect.

As our programmes grow, we will continue to develop new partnerships across South Wales, enabling more volunteers to contribute and more people experiencing hardship to receive practical support.

Our Humanitarian Programmes

As V-Aid continues to grow, we are developing a range of humanitarian programmes that respond to local need while creating meaningful opportunities for people to contribute through service.

ErM – Emergency Response Meals

Production of nutritious, long-life emergency meals distributed through charities and community organisations supporting people experiencing hardship across South Wales.

DsD – Decant, Sort & Deliver

Collection, sorting and redistribution of donated clothing, toiletries and household essentials through our partnership with Cwtch Mawr and other local charities.

SpP – Single Placement Probationer

Structured humanitarian placements enabling probation participants to work alongside veterans, displaced people seeking safety and community volunteers while building confidence, practical skills and positive routines.

TqR – Training, Qualifications & References

Supporting volunteers with practical experience, accredited training where appropriate and employment references to help build confidence, develop new skills and improve future opportunities.

ViC – Veterans in Crisis

Emergency food, clothing, toiletries and essential support packs for veterans experiencing hardship, distributed through veteran organisations and community partners.

VfR – Vulnerable Family Response

Providing practical support to families experiencing hardship through food, clothing, toiletries and other essential household items in partnership with local organisations.

PdP – Probation Dignity Packs

Supplying essential hygiene packs through probation services to individuals facing immediate hardship and without access to basic personal care items.

SdP – Single Day Projects

Short, structured humanitarian volunteering sessions allowing community groups, businesses, schools and partner organisations to contribute to meaningful local projects.

SsS – Service – Sentence – Service

A creative publication giving veterans and others with lived experience the opportunity to share their stories, artwork and experiences while promoting hope, rehabilitation and understanding.

Although each programme has its own purpose, they all share the same goal: bringing people together to help others while creating stronger, more resilient communities.

Together, these programmes reflect V-Aid’s belief that humanitarian aid should do more than meet immediate need. By producing emergency meals, redistributing donated essentials, supporting veterans in crisis and creating structured volunteering opportunities, we provide practical help to people facing hardship while enabling others to contribute, learn new skills and make a genuine difference in their communities.
