Who we are

V-Aid is a South Wales charity that brings people together through humanitarian service.

Through our Food & Futures programme, volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds work side by side to produce nutritious, long-life emergency meals for charities supporting people experiencing hardship across South Wales.

Alongside Food & Futures, we collect, sort and distribute donated clothing, toiletries and essential household items through our partnership with Cwtch Mawr, helping local charities provide practical support with dignity to those who need it most.

Everything we do is built on one simple belief: everyone has something valuable to contribute. By creating opportunities for people to help others, we strengthen communities while helping individuals build confidence, develop practical skills and discover renewed purpose.

Rather than simply providing support to people, we create opportunities for people to support others.

We bring together veterans, displaced people seeking safety, prison leavers, probation participants and community volunteers around a shared humanitarian purpose. Working side by side to produce emergency meals and support local communities allows people to build confidence, develop practical skills, form new friendships and regain a sense of purpose.

The result is a programme that not only helps those experiencing hardship today but also helps those taking part build stronger futures for themselves.

We believe the greatest impact is achieved by working alongside others rather than working alone.

Food & Futures meals, clothing, toiletries and other essential items are distributed through trusted charities and community organisations that already know the people they support. By working in partnership, we can ensure help reaches those who need it most with dignity, compassion and respect.

As our programmes grow, we will continue to develop new partnerships across South Wales, enabling more volunteers to contribute and more people experiencing hardship to receive practical support.

At the heart of V-Aid is a simple belief: everyone has something valuable to contribute. Whether preparing emergency meals through Food & Futures, sorting clothing and toiletries for distribution, or supporting our partner charities, every volunteer helps improve the lives of others while developing confidence, practical skills and a stronger sense of purpose themselves.

Our Humanitarian Programme

As V-Aid continues to grow, we are developing a range of humanitarian programmes that respond to local need while creating meaningful opportunities for people to contribute through service.

ErM – Emergency Response Meals

Developing and producing nutritious, long-life emergency meals for people facing crisis. Meals are produced both through our Community Humanitarian Response Days and through ongoing production at our own V-Aid unit, helping us maintain a regular supply ready for distribution and emergency response.

ChR – Community Humanitarian Response

Taking practical humanitarian projects directly into partner organisations and communities, giving their people the opportunity to produce aid for others facing crisis.

DsD – Decant, Sort & Deliver

Working with partners to sort, prepare and redistribute donated clothing, toiletries and essential items to charities and community organisations.

EC – Emergency Candles

Producing practical emergency candles designed to provide light, heat and basic cooking capability during emergencies and humanitarian situations.

ViC – Veterans in Crisis

Practical humanitarian support for veterans facing crisis, delivered alongside organisations with specialist knowledge and experience.

VfR – Vulnerable Family Response

Providing practical humanitarian support for families facing crisis through trusted partner organisations.

PdP – Packs of Dignity Programme

Preparing essential hygiene and dignity supplies for partner organisations supporting people experiencing hardship and crisis.

SsS – Service • Sentence • Service

Our veteran-led project giving justice-involved veterans a voice, sharing lived experience, creativity, information and hope with other veterans.

SdP – Safe Days Programme — In Development

Although each programme has its own purpose, they all share the same goal: bringing people together to help others while creating stronger, more resilient communities.

Together, these programmes reflect V-Aid’s belief that humanitarian aid should do more than meet immediate need. By producing emergency meals, redistributing donated essentials, supporting veterans in crisis and creating structured volunteering opportunities, we provide practical help to people facing hardship while enabling others to contribute, learn new skills and make a genuine difference in their communities.
