Our Projects
Food & Futures brings together veterans, displaced people seeking safety and community volunteers to produce nutritious, long-life emergency meals for charities supporting people in crisis across South Wales. The meals help a wide range of people experiencing hardship, including individuals and families facing food insecurity, homelessness, financial hardship, temporary accommodation and other challenging circumstances, ensuring practical support reaches those who need it most.
Every meal provides immediate help to someone facing hardship, while every volunteer gains confidence, purpose and the opportunity to make a genuine difference. By bringing people together through shared humanitarian action, Food & Futures not only provides emergency food but also creates opportunities to build skills, restore confidence and strengthen communities.
Feeding Communities. Creating Opportunity.
Our volunteer inmates engage in a six-month accredited modular humanitarian response course, where they acquire valuable skills in disaster relief, logistics, and crisis management. From hands-on food production to receiving feedback from those they assist, inmates gain a sense of pride and self-worth through helping others in crisis. This newfound sense of purpose is a powerful tool in their rehabilitation, promoting personal growth, responsibility, and reinforcing their ability to contribute positively to society. These skills also provide opportunities for future employment and the possibility of becoming V-Aid volunteers or team members for UK and overseas disaster response.
V-Aid Ukraine is a humanitarian initiative formed through the collaboration between the charity V-Aid and our Ukraine partner Myrnenebo. Together, we provide rapid emergency food aid from our large kitchens in Kharkiv and Kherson, ensuring assistance reaches the areas that need it most. Together we are to produce freeze-dried emergency food parcels made with locally sourced Ukrainian ingredients. These meals require no electricity to prepare, no refrigeration for storage, and only water to create a nutritious hot or cold meal. Where possible, we look to support wounded veterans by offering meaningful roles in the production and distribution of emergency aid. This not only provides essential relief but also empowers veterans to play a key role in our humanitarian mission. At V-Aid Ukraine, we are committed to delivering life-saving nourishment and creating pathways to empowerment for those most in need.
